Urban Stitching Project_Transition of Living Textures

Urban development is a dynamic process in which population composition, industrial development, and land use patterns all change over time.EOTM studies the operation mechanism of the old and the new in the urban change, and tries to discuss the ways to continue the pulse of urban change through the seamless cooperation between the old and the new.
Taichung has experienced the reclamation of the Qing Dynasty fortress, the infrastructure of the Japanese rule, the subsequent urban development, and the expansion of the Nationalist Army takeover; the many changes have left different traces on the land, and most of the urban changes have led to the creation of a fault line in the land line, and these old and new fault lines have also formed various spatial fragments.
The development of water sources in Taichung has not been well planned and strategized, and the land has been repeatedly filled and cut, with the mixed population and the old condition of the buildings on the land, as well as the problem of relocation due to the poor economic conditions.
Through the intervention of "temporary", this constitutes a dynamic construction method, leaving behind or transforming meaningful buildings and living patterns in the transition of environmental texture and population transfer, in order to create an urban spatial structure that follows the urban transformation and responds to the flexibility of the times for the old, middle and young generations.
