Reconstructing Macao Residents’ Consciousness Towards Inner Harbour Waterfront
This project was inspired by the macao water flooding crisis in 2017 Hato typhoon which made me start to reflect on the historical relationship between macao development and her waterfront. I tried to figure out if there is any phenomenon created under this development can be improved.
Through research and analysis, residents’ unfamiliarity towards waterfront, which was created because of fractures of space in inner harbor, was observed. Therefore, I tried to implant new public space and make adjustments on the original one, which can integrate and enlarge the ‘broken’ existing urban vitality there. And a new continuous public space is formed and attracts citizens to come there and know more about this significant region.
