What would the old non-elevator apartment be in the future? The urban landscape that expanded rapidly in 1980s is now crumbling. How can it regenerate in 2023? This Grand Design explored the answer through the records of street scale, the critique toward modern volume-oriented renewal, and the experiment on the renovation of non-elevator apartment at different scales. Based on the publicity of the entire apartment's structure issue, and the breakthrough of the urban role of the apartment, an open space across the scale of street block is finally used as the answer. The interweaving of old & new, the connection with market & park, the represent of the urban landscape of Taipei, etc.It will be fascinating, complicated, messy, tiring, but it will be an unprecedented state of this city!
